Man shot in the back at Tarken Playground

A man who turned up at Tarken Playground with a bullet hole in his back doesn’t know who shot him, why he shot him or how he shot him, police say.

The 26-year-old victim is expected to survive the single wound, although the bullet passed through his body and exited his chest. The shooting occurred on Saturday at about 11:51 p.m. on the 6300 block of Summerdale Ave. Police found the victim lying on the sidewalk alongside Tarken. He was taken to Albert Einstein Medical Center in serious but stable condition.

The victim told police that an unknown person approached him from behind, didn’t speak, didn’t attempt to steal anything and shot him in the back. The gunman fled westbound toward Robbins Avenue. ••
